She is currently working her way through a Masters Degree in dementia care Mapping.

Lorraine Maltby - Deputy Manager or Pompey Homecare LtdLorraine has been working in the Homecare Sector for more than 20 years. She is head of the training department as well ensuring the effective running of the office.  Lorraine is currently completing her LMCS which is a management qualification in social care.

We aim to employ well trained dedicated staff. All Clients have two key workers so care is continuous. On some occasions however you may have another carer due to absence or a delay of some sort. You will always be asked for your preferences. Carer profiles and up to date training certificates are available by calling the office.

All staff are recruited following satisfactory enhanced police checks (CRB), two or more references, health clearance and in some cases personality testing so that we are sure as far as is reasonable practicable, we employ only the safe well trained staff. Anyone coming to us without experience or qualifications is trained to our high standards and work alongside more experienced staff until assessed as competent, safe and they feel confident. We have a strict dress code and identity policy and all staff carry mobile phones.

We have links with the Southdown’s College for National Vocational Qualification courses (NVQ) and Bradford University for Dementia Mapping as well as a broad spectrum of in service training programmes using the Mulberry Certificated provision of training services. When using care services you can ask to see carer’s training certificates which for the most part must be updated yearly. Pompey makes the following courses mandatory. (Yearly unless specified)
